👋 Welcome to Fikrcamp Newsletter 🎉 Fikrcamp celebrated with our newest graduating batch as they demonstrated the web apps they have developed.
On 15th September, 2022 Fikrcamp hosted a demo day for the second cohort students of the full-stack coding bootcamp at Fikrcamp main space in Hargeisa, the second cohort consisted of two batches #103 #104 with 24 students enrolled at the beginning of the cohort, 16 students have went through the last steps of the program and developed the mandatory web application to graduate from the bootcamp, the demo day celebrated these graduates.
The teams and individuals have developed amazing products which they have showcased at the demo day, it was a proud day for everyone at Fikrcamp seeing students whom have started their journey 16 weeks ago present such products considering that some transitioned from other fields.
The demo day gathered Fikrcamp community members, alumni, students plus family and friends whom all attended to cheer or celebrate the graduating batches of #103 #104 - in attendance was also some of the mentors, instructors and Fikrcamp team.
The event featured Fikrcamp team setting the scene to welcome guests, share the objective of the day and give overview of the program mission and achievements thus far, after the pleasantries the students have took the stage to demonstrate the web application they have developed, the interesting thing was that the websites that have been developed were all tackling a social issues including renting spaces, automating their own tasks at work, book stores and reviews, forums for developers and for mental health issues and many other beautifully designed products that had all purpose and aim that can all be commercialized or be used by many people in those domains.
The students have shared the idea behind their developed applications, what problem the app is solving and the way they have developed, not forgetting to mention the challenges they have incurred throughout the program while many others have shown their appreciation to the full-stack bootcamp program by Fikrcamp.
“I remember when I joined this program, I only had some basic idea about HTML & CSS” says Sadiiq X when he finished showcasing his app “these are the fruits of our lead instructor Abdulladif Roble, I am now capable of building this web application which is saving me time at my work by automating & organizing many things I use to handle using Excel” he continued explaining the impact the program had on upgrading his skills.
All teams have showcased functional websites that seemed to all work seamlessly yet, had great designs since some students even collaborated with UI/UX professionals, everyone at attendance really appreciated the demo day and suggested that 16 weeks program could produce such talent was a thing worth applauding.
At the end of the evening there was an open mic session were students, alumni, mentors or instructors, family and friends all shared their thoughts, congratulations, and encouragement to the graduates. After that the celebrations and networking part kicked off over pizza, sweets and drinks and some board games.
